Ping! Aims to Replicate BBM for the iPhone

Ping! Aims to Replicate BBM for the iPhone

Ping! is a new messaging application for the iPhone which functions similar to Blackberry Messenger (BBM).

Ping! is a straight iPhone-to-iPhone messaging app with push notifications. It does not require that you log in and out, nor does it cost per message (ie SMS).

All you need is your contact's Ping! id and you are able to send them a message immediately. The application also stores all sent messages until deliverable so you won't miss any if you are offline.

Early reports suggest that the application has good potential with a few kinks still needing to be worked out.

The application is free for a limited time so you may want to grab it before an update.

The idea is great, but the app does not work on unlocked devices. A lot of people will not be able to use it, me included :).

This app is not bad. But it is not practical. I think not having a contact list makes it absurd to even have the app. I think Whatsapp is far better because it has a contact list. It costs US$0.99. One dollar is too cheap for an application that does this much.
