Apple's Liam Robot Disassembles Your iPhone [Video]

Apple today unveiled Liam, a robot that disassembles the iPhone making it easy for the company to recycle the various components of the device.

True innovation means considering what happens to a product at every stage of its life cycle. Liam disassembles your iPhone when it’s no longer functioning, so the materials inside can live on.

Liam can take apart over 1.2 million phones a year. Check him out in the video below...

Leave it to Apple to make a brilliant mechanical robot to dis-assemble iPhones for ‘environmental reasons’ (really to efficiently re-use old and returned iPhone parts).

Example: Ipad Air 2: good everthing!!!!! But some of the buttons is not working!! Apple will pay you ZERO USD!!!! As it's like non working!!! But hey they will gladly recycle it FRENDLY!!! They will take the 128GB logic board, the LCD and maybe the touchscreen. And they will add $100 parts and will ressel it to you for $1000 Good job apple!!!

I think it is quite wasteful to just take apart a phone that is only a little more than a year old. They can sell them to wholesalers which would resell them so they can be used again instead of throwing them away

:) the idea is : we have recycle bins so please trow your partly goid phone at our apple store recycle bins and we will extract few micro grams silver... Not that we will resell you the logic board and LCDs as they are new. Actualy apple was selling REFUCKING furbished iphones as they where brand new!!!! They wasn't marked as refurbished!!!!!

Apple stop lie that you throw away the parts and just salvage litle silver!!!! Apple use the used logic board and LCD and other parts to resell it to you or give you "new phone" when they "repair yours"!!!!

Cause if you read the apple terms you will read that: If your apple product is under warranty you may get new or probably refurbished parts. If your product is out of warranty and for example you need to pay $1000 for macbook logic board then you will for SURE get second hand "refurbished" logic board!!!!! Read the apple service agreement :) So where do they get the used parts if the robot animation let you think they just get some precious metls and trash the other...
