New Google Ad Targets Frustrated 16GB iPhone Owners [Video]

Google has posted a new ad for Google Photos that targets iPhone users who are frustrated with the lack of space on their devices.

With the size of photos, videos, apps, music, movies ever increasing, many iPhone owners (especially those with a 16GB version) are constantly running out of free space on their mobile device.

The ad below shows various users trying to capture important moments with their iPhone's camera only to run into a dreaded Storage Full error. Google's solution? Use Google Photos to offload media and free up space on your device.

Notably, Apple is expected to up the minimum storage level of the iPhone 7 to 32GB.

Yeah as much as this is yet another company targeting to only iPhone users, at least they are providing a solution that can also be done on iOS, but it doesn't offend me, be self centered about it, or piss me off so I'll give Google credit here.

And like the famous sentence says " don't put all you eggs in one basket ", that's exactly what I'm doing I don't trust any cloud so I use them all, infect iCloud have been hacked less then a month ago and if it wasn't for the hacker mistake trying to blackmail a famous person buy releasing some compromising pictures the police would have never caught on to him and they say that they found unbelievable amount of information of so many people that it could have been a disaster if they didn't caught him in time and they believe that none of the information was used, ( key word " believe " ), so yes I use google photos App also use Box, Mega, One Drive, Dropbox and more, I also made many of each and am using an App that lets me connect them all together, but my best cloud is my own external 5 Tera hard drive which any photo I take no matter where I am remotely gets backed up on it.

Exactly. It's easy to get a computer we can store photos on ourselves so This has been a long time solution here.

First off, some of us here were saying that we have our own solutions. We weren't trying to act disinterested in something from another company or trying to prove what we already have is better. Second, about apple fan boys, there are some that act like they are crazy for apple and there are those who are a pro of knowing every detail of how apple products work. In other words, users here range from the user ISMAEL SANTOS who constantly shouts 'fax me apple' 'I love this' 'OMG super great product' to the user iDevicePro who asks professional level questions about what I mentioned to the point where he sounds like he's a master of it. Finally, we all have our opinions and ways of how we deal with storage and I appreciate what you're trying to say dit get me wrong!

This is a great ad!!! Haha. Very true and very funny. That's why I got a 128 gig now and hope for 256 in the future. Apple should start at at least 32. Nothing wrong with this add.

Except there already is a solution from the get go people start using 16GB models and to the point where the storage is full because of stuff on it people don't use or care which can give you few GB of space when deleting them.

That's true in some cases but somethings like the music app can take room. For example, I like to download it so I'm not always streaming it. That takes room. It goes without saying I have a lot of music not purchased from iTunes from way back. Never mind downloading a tv show or movie. That takes a loooot of room. Is like to have at least 4 or 5 movies for when traveling and stuff. Connection is not always possible. There are many apps that I do use too and that takes too. Seriously though, some pictures I need to delete like those I like in Facebook I like and then forget I clicked save.

Original files at same price than iCloud.. 1tb 9.99/month... rather use the built in feature of Apple than this...

There is also those sd card adapters that can work with lightning to move photos there along with those wireless hubs that can share storage with it to transfer to sd cards and cases with extra storage.

I understand some have storage problems and what Google is trying to say, but I don't see how this is targeted to just iPhone users because 1. despite the banner from iOS, it's not mentioning an Apple product, the name of the Apps by them, or anything and 2. From that much shown, it feels like it's targeted to every phone user.

It would make sense if this was the only option in terms of storage and if there was no iCloud, but are you for real? I own an iPhone with 16GB and I don't find it a problem because I could just send it to my mail. Problem solved long ago for me that wasn't a problem anyway soo....

I haven't seen the video. But Tim Cook has killed innovation after Steve jobs. Just by wearing jeans and a t-shirt and going to Yosemite, one doesn't become a visionary. The iPhone was upgraded from 4Gb to 8GB to 16GB by the time 3GS was launched. For the price point of the base iPhone, it should at least be 64GB base. If not 128. Only then will a user be downloading stuff from the App Store. We basically just struggle to keep our existing applications and email attachments on the phone.

You don't even understand how right you are, Steve would have never let Apple deteriorate so much so fast that the competition is not only catching up in many places they have already passed Apple technology, I really miss old Apple!!!
