I was in the market for a gps software and concidered TomTom. But being in Canada, I would only be able to use it in Canada. Could you imagine the roaming data rates if I were to use it in the USA I think I will be upgrading my old Garmin. Overall it will be cheaper. What do you think?

I travel with my iPhone all the time as I live near the border. I don't incur any roaming charges as it doesn't use data.

I will have to try that out, I'll be in the USA soon I guess it should work with Google Maps, right?

too bad iphone's gps module sucks. AT&T's $9.99 a month Navigator and Navigon are better than the TomTom app, but still pales in comparison to Blackberry's GPS. Too bad I no longer have my work blackberry, now Im stuck with my iphone's gps. I reeeeeally miss the gps on the blackberry. It's a huge difference.

The iPhone3gs has the most powerful gps rig of any current handheld device.
