Tihmstar has demoed a 'JailbreakMe' jailbreak of 32-bit iOS 9 devices. If you remember, JailbreakMe was a simple one-step jailbreak of the iPhone via Mobile Safari. It was first used to jailbreak iPhone OS 1.1.1 way back in 2007.

The functional jailbreakme for iOS 9 was announced by Tihmstar on Twitter today:

Finally finished that jailbreakme for iOS 9! Here's a demo :D I haven't bothered make the jbme also install the untether, but there is one on my cydia repo. Also i still haven't fixed that cydo error 2, so i can't install anything in cydia. But for demo purposes it's good enough ^^

I'm using the Trident bugs, which were patched in 9.3.5. So please make sure to not use anything below on daily use phones! So i've been told that there is no JIT in captive portals, which means my exploit can't be used to bypass icloud lock. Which means jailbreakme 4.0 could actually become a thing…

In case you were wondering: Yea there is absolutely no practical need for this, as HomeDepot has been out for a while and does exactly the same. I just thought jailbreakme is kinda cool

Check out the demo video below. We'll let you know if public release of JailbreakMe 4.0 does materialize. Please follow iClarified on X, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

For what anyways cydia is dead and I’m sure tweaks won’t be updated to work on iOS 11

Why always work with old iOS? We are on iOS 11 now.

iOS 11 may never be jailbroken, it's a poor release anyway... point in case here is, that it's remarkable that Tihmstar continues delivering even if it's for a long gone iOS. Good news for people using those devices :)

What is this?! It's just like figuring how to make fire out of wooden sticks while others are taking steps on the moon.

Jailbreak Is dead! Don’t get your hopes up for future Jailbreaks, especially on the latest iOS.

Neat and everything, but when can we expect a public release of jbme for iOS 11.2? In the year 2021?
