Kernel Exploit Discovered for iOS 12 Beta 12 [Video]

Security researchers at TRUEL IT, an Italian research-driven security firm, have achieved read/write access to kernel memory in iOS 12 beta 12.

Simone Ferrini, a former iOS and firmware developer, demonstrated the accomplishment in a video posted to Twitter on Friday.

iOS 12 beta 12 pwned. (Kernel Memory R/W) with @jndok and @f_roncari - WE DID IT

Read/write access to the kernel is fundamental to a jailbreak, although there are several other components needed. It's also uncertain that the exploit will still work in the final release of iOS 12.

For now take a look at the video below and please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for any jailbreak updates!

This is still on beta. I will be surprised if the exploit is made on the final iOS 12.

Who knows! While there are still a KPP - or KPP-less step and sandbox escape needed, I think that this exploit might be much better off handed to Coolstar. He COULD be on his way to build an iOS 12 jailbreak ✌️📱.
