Apple may have acquired Quattro Wireless for $275 million, according to BoomTown sources.
Quattro Wireless is a leading global mobile advertising company targeting smartphone devices such as the iPhone.
BoomTown believes the announcement might come as soon as tomorrow, upping the ante in the mobile advertising business. Google recently agreed to pay $750 million for AdMob, a Quattro competitor, which Apple had also been trying to acquire.
Quattro has raised nearly $30 million in funding. Its main two investors are Highland Capital Partners and Globespan Capital Partners.
