Second Gear has announced the immediate availability of Today 2.0, the latest version of its popular calendaring application Today. Today makes it easy to get a one day snapshot view of your upcoming events and tasks in a compact window. No iCal required. With this major upgrade, users can see upcoming events on their schedule for the next day.

Today 2.0 also features significant enhancements to the data creation functionalities. Users can now assign global hot keys for creating events or tasks from within any application. Along with the functionality enhancements, Today 2.0 also sports a brand new, more refined user interface, loads of usability improvements and is a native 64-bit application for the first time. What's new in Today 2.0:
* Added support for showing tomorrow's events in the events timeline
* Added global hot keys for showing new event and new task windows
* Rebuilt the UI to be smaller, leaner and meaner
* Today 2.0 is now a 64-bit application
* Added URL field to the event and task creation windows
* Added support for providing feedback and support from within application
* Added support for sudden termination
* Sorting tasks by priority or due date now pops tasks with null values to the bottom
* Updated Spaces handling so that it works more reliably in menu bar mode
* Resolved issue where tasks split view would not remember its previous position
* Updated the Credits.rtf file to properly credit people and resources involved in the project
* Window level preference is automatically reflected after being checked

Pricing and Availability:
Today costs $21.95 (USD). Family Pack licenses, which cover up to 5 computers in one household, are $34.95. Upgrades from earlier versions of Today are $11.95, and free to users who purchased after November 1, 2009. A 14-day fully-functioning demo of Today is available at the Second Gear site.
