Now that just insane, I would get a car for my girlfriend at that price. Or I can get a month off in Australia if I wanted.

Sure lets pay a hefty price for a tv that can also cost electricity just by acting as lit up (animated) wall decor. Forget replicating a picture and making it backlit.

This is why I have trust issues with some companies. I get the feeling Apple will will drop the price of the oldest MacBook Air model they're still selling the second I pay $1,199 for a 128GB configured model (don't ask why I'm buying that one over the newest model for old ports, MagSafe, and no retina which I don't care about).

Nope, Apple rarely drops their prices, even when it costs them dearly like it did this past year. Though, $16K is a LOT of cash for a dam TV and if I need one to display my favorite smartphone apps, I’ll simply display my phone/tablet to my TV. Charging an extra $14,000 to duplicate my phone makes little sense.
