I was able to "test drive" all the big iPhone navigator apps (TomTom, Navigon, Co-Pilot, Inrix Traffic) last fall, and it was clear that Navigon's MobileNavigator was the one to go with. Best looking maps, best directions (in my area), and most current maps. Looks like still the one to beat. I have the traffic add-in (in app purchase), which is useful, but only does traffic on freeways/highways as far as I can tell in Los Angeles. If getting routed around traffic is your biggest concern, and you want street level routes with traffic considered, then Inrix Traffic Pro is the clear winner. It doesn't do turn by turn, but it will tell you, from where ever you, to where ever you want to go, what the quickest route will be, time-wise, based on current, or future, traffic. Absolutely awesome.
