I accidentally hit upgrade iphone recently in iTune, forgetting that my iphone 1.1.4 bought in May08 in Singapore, was bought unlocked and jailbroke. I've restored my phone in iTune to factory settings, won't access my SIM in Brazil. I have tried a number of unlocking instructions, including the one click iLiberty+ software, but none of them have successfully unlocked my iphone. Has anyone encountered the same problem, and can point me in the right direction? Thanks, I'd much appreciated.

I'd love to help, but unfortunately I'm not in any position to advice. All day of trying to unlock without any success has given my headache. I can only say good luck!

I accidentally hit upgrade iphone recently in iTune, forgetting that my iphone 1.1.4 bought in May08 in Singapore, was bought unlocked and jailbroke. I've restored my phone in iTune to factory settings, won't access my non-AT&T SIM in Australia. I have tried a number of unlocking instructions, including the one click iLiberty+, Ziphone, and iNdependence (Mac) software, but none of them have successfully unlocked my iphone. I'm not a techhead, but I can follow instructions.
Has anyone encountered the same problem, and can point me in the right direction? Thanks, I'd much appreciated.

How long does the unlock, active and jailbreak process on iLiberty+ take? I have been on the entering recovery mode for at least 5 minutes now. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong. I have a 1.1.4 OTB iphone, and I just want to unlock it to be able to use my local carrier SIM in Australia.

It works perfectly. I had an OTB 1.1.2, jailbreaked with stealthsim. Did a safety backup, sync and then a restore to 1.1.4 and used iLiberty+. Afterwards I could use my safety backup to "restore" my usersettings and the sync the phone again and Voìla! Everything the same as before but with 1.1.4.

@ Michael . . . if by "How do I get the 1.1.4 firmware? " you are really asking . . . how do you download the necessary firmware to install on your iPhone then you should just head over to a place that links you to the firmware. Download it to your DESKTOP or folder of choice. Once you are ready to RESTORE, connect your iPhone and Hold down the SHIFT key (Windows) or Option/ALT-key (Mac) on your keyboard while clicking RESTORE. You may download the firmwares from . . . https://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 and thats how you update your iPhone into 1.1.4. Hopefully that helps . . . remember to read these instructions a minimum of three times to comprehend what you will be doing then its basically following the directions exactly.

@ Michael . . . RESTORE to 1.1.4 . . . do not UPDATE to 1.1.4 (it seems counter intuitive since you may be thinking how to I restore to a firmware I never had . . . logically it make sense to update). If you need an URL for guidance just scroll up to the TOP of this page and it read VERBATIM, "Before following these instructions you should have already restored your iPhone to 1.1.4" . . . keyword there is "RESTORED". Hopefully that helps!

N00b question:
How do I get the 1.1.4 firmware? After reading Chris's post below, I'm wondering whether I should click on the UPDATE button to get 1.1.4 or not. If I dont click that, how would I get 1.1.4? Any URLs someone can point me to?

Hey
I got a problem with my iPhone i wanted to jailbreak and unlock it with iLiberty+ it stopped during the process and my iPhone showed the message BSD root:md0, major 2, minor 0 I stopped this process with plugging out the iPhone now it still shows the message, but y ac doesn't recognize the iPhone anymore, please help me

[UPDATE] I was able to jailbreak, unlock and activate from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4. As I explained earlier iLiberty froze in the middle of the Jailbreak on my Mac running Leopard. My iPhone only displayed "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0" over and over and over. I was scared!
Heres the fix!
1. Download iPhone firmwares 1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.4
2. Restore your iPhone via iTunes to 1.0.2 (you will be given error message)
3. Restore to 1.1.1 (you may be given error message or not)
4. Prepare your iPhone to jailbreak into 1.1.2, consult the relevant iClarified Tutorial
5. J/A/U your iPhone to 1.1.2 via the iClarified method found in the Tutorials Section
6. Restore (IMPORTANT**** Do NOT Update) your iPhone via iTunes to 1.1.4
7. Run your choice of available programs to J/A/U into 1.1.4 (Note the second time around I opted for Zip since I got burnt via iLiberty the first time but that was my choice)
Make sure to follow the instructions verbatim and the tutorials for the specific sections. Remember to UPDATE when told to and RESTORE went told to. Misreading or not reading carefully can cause you to restart the process from scratch. I went from 1.1.2 back to 1.0.2 because I did not RESTORE and accidentally selected UPDATE because it seems natural to UPDATE from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 and not RESTORE.
If you have questions feel free to shoot them over to me.

I have new OTB 1.1.3 upgraded to 1.1.4 thru Itunes. DFU restored and plugged in a few times to make sure iTunes got it. Ran iLiberty (iTunes closed) with jailbreak and activation selected. The program froze at PREPARING JAILBREAK. Waited 10 min and force quit iLiberty. It left my iPhone stuck at a terminal screen of scrolling commands which just looped. Could not restore until I quit iTunes and restarted iTunes and DFU restored the phone finally after an hour of trying. Went back to the tried and true iPlus2.0b and ran that, The program ran said it had completed - but got stuck at the final reboot. Waited a while and disconnected, rebooted the phone manually got back to the Home OK but no Installer, and apparently no jailbreak either. Bummer. I had jailbroken all the rev's from the start including 1.1.4 using iPlus 2.0, but this was the first time I failed at it. Any ideas why ?

I tried liberty on my 1.0.2. and it got stuck half way on Jailbreak for about 10 minutes and then I realized the program was frozen. Now my iphone will not boot up. Liberty does not recognize it either when connected via USB nor does itunes. It is stuck with a code screen. What should I do?
I am running Leopard and the iphone was a 1.0.2.

Hi
I've got my iPhone 1.1.2 (bought in the USA Dec-08) freed by a manual process which was popular in January To unlockit I used Stealth Simm card which you would insert it sandwiched with your own local simm card and worked fine for me.
Then ZipPhone came out about a month ago and I decided to upgrade to 1.1.3 using iTunes, then unlocked/Free again, no Stealth simm anymore,- Perfect, is now working great.
I now want to upgrade to 1.1.4 but reading your recent new Ziphone tutorial I understood that by using it you are also doungrading the Baseband and once done that would be almost impossible to upgrade it back again; iLiberty+ claims to upgrade the baseband to the latest version.
Would it be possible to run iLiberty+ and restore/upgrade everything?
Thank you
Fernando

So can the payloads be installed at any time, or only during the initial unlocking/jailbreaking?
And is there a list of the different payloads, what they're used for, and where to find them? (Specifically those for people in unsupported countries)?
Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it.

This is for both BL3.9 and BL4.6. BL 4.6 will be downgraded to BL3.9FakeBlank. There will be an option to upgrade back to 4.6 again (works only on BL3.9FB) through a payload. And yes this is the best tool for now. ZiPhone can be thrown away now.

Dear Sirs,
May I seek your kind advice, given my extremely infant knowledge & experience:
- Given the brand new OTB 1.1.4 (4.6BL) 16G iPhone I have (never jailbroken, activated nor unlocked before), do I still need to restore to 1.1.4 using iTunes before running iLibertyX?
- Some other website mentioned that I need to place iLibertyX on desktop to run it. Is this correct?
- Given the brand new iPhone I have, do I need to add the Reflash E/W/B payload?
- Do I need to add the International Payload (as required for iPlus 2.0b) separately, or it's already included in the standard run? If I need to, where can I get the International Payload for iLibertyX, or the one for iPlus 2.0b will do?
- Do I need to add the YouTube Fix payload separately, or it's already included in the standard run?
- Assuming I complete the jailbreak, activate & unlock process, and then later on I want to add other payloads, do I just do the payloads, or I still need to click J/A/U again?
Please excuse me for my silly questions. Your kind advice would be mostly appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Gary

The BIG question is: Is BL3.9 supported? Or is it only for BL4.6?
A lot of people would like to know the answer to that question...

If I'm in an unsupported country (Switzerland), do I need additional payloads to free up all the features? If so, which ones?
Bought my iPhone today, dying to try it out!
