They should add a caveat that the common connector pass quality control and is the best available technology. Common stupidity I hope not. Someone should take the EU to court for anti trust anti competition. Anti innovation.

I don’t think that USB-c connectors are more durable than Lightning!!! USB-c has that little “tongue” inside the female part of the connector that is very fragile for me. Lightning construction is more robust.
