AT&T may have extended its iPhone exclusivity via an iPad data deal that Apple couldn't refuse and competitors wouldn't match.
"AT&T had to do something dramatic to get the iPad," says Brian Marshall, a Wall Street analyst at BroadPoint AmTech.
"For that pricing [on the iPad], AT&T was able to negotiate a six-month extension on the iPhone exclusive," Marshall said.
AT&T is offering an unlimited data plan for $30 per month. This is far cheaper then any prior plan and does not require a contract.
Marshall now believes that Verizon won't get the iPhone until the first quarter of 2011.

I believe it will be open to Verizon in addition to ATT, I am in Canada, not until 3G(s), Rogers was the only one you could get the iphone, things changed late last year, now you can get iphone from all major phone compaies.
