BeeJive IM for iPad has been submitted to the App Store for review and should be available by next week, according to a Wired report.
The site had a chance to try an almost finalized version...
My favorite part about the BeeJive UI is it lists your chat sessions in a column on the right side of the screen. You can see a preview of what a person is saying in a bubble, which eliminates the need to switch back and forth between chats over and over. Selecting a chat in the right window displays the full conversation in the center screen.
You can scroll up and down the active chat window in the center, and there are icons to send an image, record and send a voice clip, e-mail a copy of your conversation and close the chat. I was surprised by how painless sending a photo and audio clip was: Rather than require a friend to accept a file transfer, BeeJive sends multimedia in the form of a URL for the recipient to view on a webpage. It’s fast, fast, fast, which is how the overall iPad experience should be.
BeeJive IM will be offered at an introductory cost of $6 and will cost $10 later. It is being sold separately from the iPhone version.
What a crock this fad is of making "ipad" versions of apps and charging twice, with seemingly no new features. I dealt with the same line of bs with plugplayer - no new features to speak of. Why not just make a universal app and be happy your application has more exposure to new customers through new devices being sold? As a loyal customer of Beejive who paid 20 bux for the original iPhone version I'm completely offended. I'll be switching products to something else - I suggest others do the same!
yes i agree...this greedy dev shouldnt be supported by their loyal customer.first they are late in released the apps and now they charging twice for the same features?nooo...im changing to im+ now...wont give money to a greedy dev like them...and ive try im+ and it is good in features if u re looking for it not just some fancy nice UI
