TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is downplaying recent reports about Foxconn pulling Chinese engineers from its iPhone factories in India, stating in a new analysis that the impact of the move is "negligible."
In a post on X, Kuo claims there were already very few Chinese employees at the Indian facility to begin with. He also clarifies that the production capabilities were established by Taiwanese employees, specifically from the company's FIH Minsheng plant, not the Chinese staff.
Furthermore, Kuo says the gradual return of these employees was planned well in advance and that Apple was fully informed of the schedule.
--- Market rumors suggest Foxconn has asked Chinese employees to return home from its India iPhone plant. The impact of this is negligible. Three key points:
1. There were already few Chinese employees at the company's India iPhone facility. 2. Production capabilities at Foxconn's India iPhone facilities were established by the company's Taiwanese employees (such as those from FIH's Minsheng plant), not Chinese employees. 3. The gradual return of Chinese employees had been planned for some time, and Apple was fully informed. ---
