The original AirTag has dropped to its lowest price ever of $17 today. That is a 41 percent discount off the original $29 retail price, and a dollar below its previous low.
This discount arrives just weeks after Apple introduced the second-generation AirTag. While the new model includes an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip for extended range and a louder speaker, the original version remains a capable tracker for everyday items like keys and luggage. It utilizes the U1 chip for Precision Finding on iPhone and features the same IP67 water and dust resistance found on the newer hardware.
For users who do not need the enhanced range or the ability to use Precision Finding on Apple Watch, the first-generation model offers significant savings over the $29 AirTag 2. Like its successor, it uses a standard user-replaceable CR2032 battery, a design choice confirmed to remain unchanged in the latest hardware.

Update: The 4-pack of AirTag (1st generation) trackers are also on sale for $64, a dollar off their all-time low.
