Downgrading an iPad 2 from iOS 6 to iOS 5.1.1 is possible, but it requires that you have previously saved your SHSH blobs for iOS 5.x. Because the iPad 2 uses an A5 processor, you cannot perform the downgrade without these digital signatures. The iPhone Dev-Team updated the RedSn0w tool to handle this specific downgrade process for A5 devices. You can find the full details on device compatibility and the requirements for downgrading at this link: www.iclarified.com/24547/iphone-devteam-details-which-devices-can-be-downgraded-from-ios-6x-to-ios-5x
