I have a Mac Pro that needs a monitor. The current Apple Thunderbolt Display dates back to 2011 and is quite thick. Does anyone know if this monitor is going to be updated soon?

Apple eventually discontinued the Thunderbolt Display in June 2016. For several years, Apple recommended LG UltraFine displays as the primary option for Mac users before returning to the display market with its own hardware. Currently, Apple offers two main displays: the 27-inch Studio Display and the 32-inch Pro Display XDR. The Studio Display serves as the spiritual successor to the original Thunderbolt Display, featuring a 5K Retina panel, an integrated webcam, and a high-quality speaker system. Although early speculation focused on the transition to the DisplayPort 1.3 standard (www.iclarified.com/43888/finalized-displayport-13-standard-brings-support-for-5k-monitors), modern Macs utilize Thunderbolt 3 or 4 to support these high-resolution screens.
