How do I unlock an iPad 2 after downgrading from iOS 6.1.2 to 5.1.1?

I recently downgraded an iPad 2 from iOS 6.1.2 to 5.1.1 using saved SHSH blobs and Redsn0w. Although I am now on 5.1.1 and jailbroken with Absinthe, the device appears locked to AT&T. AT&T support suggested a restore to unlock the device, but since Apple is no longer signing iOS 5.1.1, I am concerned about how to process the IMEI unlock without losing my current firmware version or jailbreak.

To process a carrier unlock on an iPad 2 after downgrading to iOS 5.1.1 using SHSH blobs, you can perform a restore using Redsn0w rather than iTunes. This allows you to reinstall the iOS 5.1.1 firmware using your saved blobs. Once the restore is complete and the device activates, the IMEI unlock status should be recognized by Apple's servers. If Redsn0w fails to jailbreak the device after the restore, you can use Absinthe to complete the jailbreak process. This method ensures you stay on the desired firmware while allowing the device to update its unlock status.

Reinstalling iOS 5.1.1 using Redsn0w with saved SHSH blobs will successfully restore the carrier unlock. If Redsn0w fails to jailbreak the device after the restore, use Absinthe to complete the jailbreak. This method allows the iPad 2 to recognize the network unlock while maintaining the downgraded firmware version.
