Apple today announced plans to open its first European Developer Center in Berlin later this year. Located in the city's Mitte district, the new facility is designed to give developers across Europe direct access to Apple experts, events, and resources, along with a place to learn about the latest Apple tools and technologies.
The Berlin location joins Apple's existing network of developer hubs in Cupertino, Bengaluru, Shanghai, and Singapore. Created for teams of all sizes and at every stage of app development, the center will serve as a home base for in-person sessions, workshops, and one-on-one appointments. Consultation areas and dedicated labs will provide hands-on support from Apple experts in multiple languages, while a regular schedule of events will help developers improve the design, quality, and performance of their apps across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said Europe is home to an extraordinary community of developers building apps that create connections, encourage creativity, and drive innovation. According to Prescott, the new center is built on Apple's belief that developers do their best work when they have access to the right tools and resources.
The announcement comes ahead of Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, where the company is expected to unveil updates to its software platforms and developer tools.
The Berlin center builds on Apple's broader developer initiatives, including its network of 19 Developer Academies worldwide, Foundation Programs in France and Italy, and the Swift Student Challenge. Developers also have access to more than 250,000 APIs across frameworks such as Metal, HealthKit, Core ML, MapKit, and SwiftUI.
Apple says App Store storefronts across Europe saw more than 150 million average weekly users in 2025. The company also continues to offer its App Store Small Business Program, which provides a reduced 15 percent commission rate for qualifying developers. Across its ecosystem, Apple now has more than 2.5 billion active devices worldwide.
