iOS 27.2 Code Reveals Schneider 'Second-Party' Home Accessories

Schneider-branded smart home accessories appear alongside LG devices in iOS 27.2's list of 'second-party' Home products, according to findings shared by leaker pdfu. The entries identify a smart thermostat and a temperature/humidity sensor.

The thermostat has placeholder setup assets, and its setup configuration mentions 'Proximity Settings.' Products on the list receive special treatment from the operating system, including dedicated setup assets.

In all, the _secondPartyProducts table in HomeKitMatter contains ten accessory IDs: six for LG and four for Schneider. Several refer to variants of the same device, so the count does not represent ten distinct products.

The Schneider entries cover a thermostat labeled 'TP,' a thermostat QA variant, and the temperature/humidity sensor. A fourth accessory remains unidentified, with the post suggesting it may be a QA variant of the sensor. LG's entries cover thermostat, deadbolt, and sensor variants.

That classification points to another potential Apple Home partner, but it does not confirm a co-development arrangement with Schneider.

Apple is reportedly working with LG on a broader lineup that also includes a video doorbell and indoor, outdoor, and floodlight cameras. The accessories are expected to carry LG branding, with LG handling manufacturing and support while Apple helps with design and engineering.

Leaked renders have already offered a first look at the LG lock, thermostat, and sensor. The LG lineup is still at least a few months away.

Apple has now announced its 'Welcome home' event for Tuesday, October 13. A smart home hub, upgraded HomePod mini, and new Apple TV are expected. A launch date for the Schneider accessories has not been announced.
