iOS 4.2 Supports New Tech That Reduces Network Congestion

Nokia Siemens, one of the world's top suppliers of cellular infrastructure, claims that iOS 4.2 ships with a new technology called network-controlled fast dormancy which better optimizes how the phone connects to the network. Furthermore, Nokia Siemens claims that network-controlled fast dormancy provides better battery life and less unnecessary network utilization.

Nokia discovered the technology in the OS by conducting its own tests and not by working with Apple on implementing it. Nokia Siemens was also quick to point out that it had implemented the technique in all of its smartphones starting earlier this year.

this is bullshit, after updating to 4.2.1 on my iphone 3g wifi don't work and i have battery drain problem!!! anybody else???

i updated to 4.2.1 my talk time increased to 28 hours talk time on 3g !!! JUST KIDDEN i havent updated yet
