A source tells AppleInsider that Apple plans on gearing up for its yearly back-to-school promotion as soon as next week. The news comes as reports have revealed that Apple has scheduled early store meetings with employees this coming Sunday, May 22. These planned meetings along with Apple's 10 year anniversary are providing wild speculation among industry analysts.
As for the company's annual educational promotion, the timing would fit in line with last year's, which was announced on Tuesday, May 25. Last year's promotion gave a free 8GB iPod Touch to students and school faculty with a purchase of a Mac. Previous back to school offers also began around this time.

Really spend $2000 and they give you a $200 device.... I fail to see the promotion..... only people to like this are the people that want a mac.. and not a useful machine
