Geohot has launched YiPhone.org which displays a timer likely counting down to his release of a jailbreak.
This follows some drama in the iPhone community over the past while. First, it seems like someone leaked the Dev-Team's exploit to Geohot (at least according to the Dev-Team).
Then Geohot posts on his blog suggesting that the Dev-Team release PwnageTool before someone else does (example Zibri).
The Dev-Team responds saying that Geohot has been kicked off the Dev Team in the past, some of the tools he has been using belong to them, someone leaked their 2.0 exploit to Geohot, and that Geohot is trying to provoke them into releasing PwnageTool early.
Now, it seems as though a new website has been launched at YiPhone.org with a countdown timer. To what exactly we are not sure; however, you can bet it will involve a jailbreak!
YiPhone.org NOTE*: Use firefox or safari to see the timer...

The timer (IMHO) hits zero 12:00 (Noon) Eastern (US).
Geo is a formidable hacker in his out right, he IS the first 4.6 hack after all, without which a whole bunch of 16GB iPhones would still be on AT&T! However, this seems a rather childish move to threaten another team to publish their project before they are ready. If the dev team wants to release a polished, on click app, then kudos to them. I look forward to seeing how this all plays out.

Geo iisnt taking credit for the hack!
he is just pushing the dev team to release without any further un-necessary delay!

If the timer is in milliseconds it will reach zero in about 42 hours. However as ZuZ said, the script uses the clients current date so the counter will reach zero at different times depending on which timezone you are in. So I guess that the New Zealanders will be the first to watch the counter reach zero.

guys, if you look at the source code of the site, there is a javascript running in the background that generates this countdown based on your date setting of your system. he called that script "crayzsub" - i don't think it's meant to be a real countdown. so don't waste your time and stay up and wait for this.

In fact many people would no longer require either jailbreak nor unlock, if unlocked iPhones 1.1.1 - 1.1.4 could simply be upgraded to v 2.0 and work on any of the current worldwide networks selling the iPhone. I'm on one of "approved" network anyway but don't require a new 3G phone, my 2G does it just fine all I need is v2 software to get to the "cloud" ...
Anyhow, so we desperately keep on waiting until either party releases an unlock method.

Kind of weird.
I checked the site, and decided to Command + C them into text edit, I get numbers.

it changes all the time, like a down counting timer.

Not correct but can it be anything like this? Waiting for the 2.0 unlock now... :D
