Apple has put Final Cut Studio back on sale following the intense criticism of its recently released Final Cut Pro X video editing software, reports MacRumors.
We confirmed with an Apple telesales representative at 800-MY-APPLE that Final Cut Studio, part number MB642Z/A, is again available for $999 (and $899 for educational customers). The product is only available through the 800-number and is not available in Apple Retail Stores or on the Apple Online Store.
Yes - this was the really the only thing I could not understand. FCP X can exist as long as the old FCP 7 also could backup with yet not existing features in FCP X for those editing workflows with those needs - the removal of FCP 7 was a mystery. Well , now it's back - this is good. But the whole launch and strategy around FCP X is very non-apple . Wazzup ??
About time! Now, if they could only discontinue that useless FinalCut X, and make a new FinalCut Pro 8. That would be outstanding! (Not holding my breath though.)
Had the same thought, though Final Cut X is definitely garbage in the pro-editing world. Still think he should stick with it and just assemble a team of developers to convert FC X into a real pro version. Steve would never show such weakness...
