Apple's 'Brick' Codeword Deciphered?

Apple's 'Brick' Codeword Deciphered?

Macenstein has come up with a possible explanation of what Apple's rumored 'Brick' product is....

Well, not to toot our own horns, but we think we’ve solved the riddle behind the code name “The Brick”, although unfortunately our theory does not shed any real light on what the device actually IS, but perhaps it can help end speculation as to what it is not.. We mulled the “brick” name over in our official, patent-pending Macenstein Lab Think Tank™, and it is now our belief that The Brick has nothing to do with the device actually looking physically like a brick at all. Rather, we feel it is likely that it is simply a name for an upcoming product (or group of products) that Apple thinks will be sexy enough to pull a huge marketshare away from Microsoft. After all, how do you break “Windows”? You throw a brick through them!

So what will be the product to "Break" Windows? Possible suggestions include, new MacBooks, a tablet Mac, a wireless USB hub, or even a Mac Mini Pro.

I actually think it's likely this thing does (or early prototypes did) look somewhat like a brick if it does in fact exist. Usually code names don't mean much, but due to the negative connotations associated with the term brick I doubt they'd codename something Brick just so it could break windows. It had to get that name from its looks. Hammers break windows too, so do baseballs. Now Balls, that would be a good codename.

I don’t believe the brick is going to be what most bloggers are speculating. Steve Jobs & Co. mentioned earlier this year that there was going to be some products released that will be breakthrough. So, what is breakthrough? Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO, made the comment that there was going to be some change. Ubergizmo wrote, “The new, unnamed product will continue to have “technologies and features that others can’t match,” according to the Oppenheimer.” So, there are two points a new product associated with product transition to cut back on its profit margins. Secondly, price changes. Note the correlation. I don’t think the “product transition” is another iteration of a laptop. A new product is not another style of something Apple has. The clues: Earlier this year Apple bought PA Semi for some $268 Million. The processor that was produced, at the time of acquisition, was the PPC based PWRficient processor some 2Ghz dual core 64bit running between 4 -7W, current stakeholder in the chip is the DOD. John Carmack, of ID and speaking about the iPhone technology, stated that “PowerVR SGX” was more powerful than Nintendo DS and PSP he also stated at another time that he thought programming in Objective-C was the one of if not the best platform to program. So, I believe the Next system the “Brick” will be a gaming system that includes both console and portable it will run the same games on both systems and the user will purchase the games from the online Apple store. Sure there will be a new portable line but Apple will introduce something new and I think this will be that new “transitional” product.

Most likely a wireless USB hub. My reasoning is because if u have an iPhone, not sure about iTouch, SSH into it go to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ and you will find a file named MobileWirelessSync.framework. Check it out!
