AT&T Says It Won't Throttle Unlimited Customers Until 3GB of Data Usage

AT&T has announced that it will not throttle customers on unlimited plans until they pass 3GB in data usage, according to a statement on their site.

Do you have an unlimited data plan? If so, we have information to help you manage your account if you use more than 3GB, which means you are in the top 5% of data users in our network. If you have a 4G LTE Smartphone with monthly data usage over 5GB, you'll also be interested in this information. You can check your usage for this month by dialing *data# on your mobile phone.

The company has received a lot of negative publicity over the throttling of unlimited customers who surpassed 2GB of data. One AT&T customer was awarded $850 in the matter after taking AT&T to court.

While 3GB of data is of course better than 2GB, throttling unlimited customers down to nearly unusable speeds hardly qualifies as unlimited.

Their point is, if you're an employ. And your make 10 dls an hour, like others. you don't want to works more then them or double then them. Because you know you don't get more for what you do, you always going to try to work as they do. Because. It wont be fair for you is you over do it. Even if you sign a application. where you right that you are going to do better then other. Same here, they said. Alot of people. Don't use more then 2 gigs a month, when other use more then 20 gigs, I will love to have my Internet unlimited like before but. For now Is impossible. I love to be able to tether my iPad. Without paying more. But is not possible. If you can sued them do so.or send a complain to BBB, like I did.it will help,

I hate this. I have got throttled the last 3 months. True I use a lot of data but unlimited is just that. Nothing says reduced speeds.

Hopefully this isn't for everyone, because I haven't received a email for throttling and I have been going over 2 gigs. Sorry but I don't want to be on the same team as the other people getting throttled. Not to say I wasn't pissed that AT&T was doing this to others it just wasn't happening to me. I'm sure it's all about location.

Well previously 2gb was the top 5% So this just shows that the top 5% means whatever they want it to mean ^ This Exactly what I was thinking.
