The iPhone Dev-Team has made a cryptic teaser post in advance of the iPhone 3G unlock expected today.
The post reads, 01110110 01110100 01100001 01100010 01100101 01110010 00100000 00110110 00110001 00110000 00110110 00110000 00110001 00110111 00110100 00100000
Converted to Ascii the message reads "vtaber 61060174". vtaber converted to ROT13 reads, "ignore".
It is possible that this means to ignore post 61060174 on the iPhone Dev-Team's blog. The post entitled, "The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!" is a warning not to update to iPhone firmware 2.2 using iTunes. Perhaps the iPhone Dev-Team has figured out a way to unlock the new baseband that came with 2.2 as well. Update- It is now confirmed, the iPhone Dev has unlocked the 2.2 Baseband (2.28.00)

WHEN ? WHEN ? WHEN? I have been waiting to update to 2.2 fw bc i didn't want to mess with my baseband. Does this mean it's soon? Waiting patiently. THANKS
Not a criticism but a fun whimsical post is all. I can wait as long as i need.
Thanks again Dev team.
So, the Dev Team won't take donations, won't charge you, and won't release software that will harm your phone; they give you a great thing and want nothing from you in return, but you'll begrudge them a little bit of fun with posts on their blog...? Sad.
