The new version can perform global searches in all fields of the address book, including some that are not even visible on the iPhone (like IM addresses), and has new search filters in all views to quickly find the desired contacts. You can now easily send SMS messages to a contact, and all navigation indexes have been greatly improved to help users with many contacts in their address book. Last but not least, the app now comes with better Japanese sorting and support for phonetic names.
