A new report from leaker Instant Digital suggests Apple is planning a significant shift in the pricing and storage for its upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. The device will reportedly see a $50 price increase but will also double the base storage to 256GB.
In a post on Weibo, the leaker claims that while the entry-level price is higher, customers are getting more storage for their money. The iPhone 16 Pro currently starts at $999 for a 128GB model. A $50 price bump would bring the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro to $1049, but for double the storage.
This isn't the first we've heard of a potential price bump for the 2025 Pro models. An investor note from Jefferies last month also predicted a $50 price hike for the Pro models, citing rising component costs and the impact of new tariffs. Another forecast, from analyst Jeff Pu, also pointed to a likely price increase to offset production and tariff costs.
The storage and pricing update is expected to accompany a broader redesign for the iPhone 17 Pro. The new high-end models are rumored to feature a new full-width camera bar, a more durable, anti-reflective display, and a possible switch from a titanium back to an aluminum frame.
