RADIUS is an ultra-minimal bumper for the iPhone 5 that is seeking funding via Kickstarter.
The RADIUS consists of the corner modules and the X frame that holds them together. The corner modules are beveled (or chamfered as Jonathan Ive called it) much like the bezel of the iPhone 5, while raised profiles at the front of the corner modules elevate the touch screen, allowing the phone to be placed facedown on flat surfaces.
The ultra thin profile of the corner modules precisely and securely grips the thin bezel of the iPhone 5 without covering any part of the touch screen. This design allows protective film to be used on the touch screen.
The corner modules have reportedly been designed to avoid the antenna strips so as to not impede reception. The X frame connects the corners and is secured using 4 custom screws.
RADIUS will be available in polished aluminum, anodized red, anodized cyan, and a limited edition Kickstarter green.
The project has raised $15,386 of its $25,000 goal with 10 days left to go. A pledge of $49 can get you one of the first ones.

I like it but I'm not secure this will protect my iPhone ! It is really nice to keep more free possible but seems not to really protect , and if u make a video showing how it protect the phone and also compare to others cases ... Hugs from Brazil - Bruno

Wow I'm surprised that the commentators didn't even see the full video. It is clearly visible that it has layers of transparent plastic will protect it and the case is built in such a way that will also balance, not only that they have made it stylish too and it is available in a variety of colours awesome!!!!

I'm with others. There is no shock absorbtion qualities of the product. Putting corner stickers would protect the same.
Also this would feel weird in your hand. You would have to like the design and look of it.

Sooo... Lets recap - January 9, 2013 at 9:14pm
For 45 dollars you can be the proud owner of an ugly X shaped metal corner and back side scratching "bumper" that in no way serves any purpose of protecting your iPhone 5? So I'm caught up? How about No. Just buy a LifeProof case

You should seriously reconsider tagging this bumper as ultraminimal. You have a serious lack of design knowledge if you think that thing is ultraminimal

I still prefer the original apple bumper which seems sturdier than this one. Nonetheless it's good to have a choice but they need to come down on the price though.

The X Design is ugly, the case offers minimal protection, and the silver color looks great but for the black phone I get a choice of red, cyan, or green? No thanks. $49? Double no thanks.

Hmm there is no mention of how this "case" intends to protect the iphone. It's metal on metal the only visual benefit is that it gives you slight lay on the table ability. This should be advertised as a corner protector for your iphone 5, there is no shock absorption aspect or scratch protection for the other exposed areas. This may be ideal with a glas.t but I can't say I'm a fan of the "x" design. That said I'm sure people will buy these because the bumper market needs a refresher.

49$ for 1/4 of a case no thanks it looks like my phone can still get a bunch of scuff marks around the edge.
