AT&T is continuing their LTE rollout today, announcing 13 new markets. The new markets launched today brings their entire count to 359. Three of these markets came from their "pre-announced" list they released earlier this year, meaning 10 of them come as a surprise. AT&T also expanded LTE in two markets.
● Stockton-Lodi, CA ● Fort Collins-Loveland, CO ● Laredo, TX (Pre-Announced) ● Topeka, KS (Pre-Announced) ● Charlottesville, VA ● Medford-Ashland, OR ● Coeur D'Alene, ID ● Portsmouth, NH (Pre-Announced) ● Kirksville, MO ● Greenville, MS ● Vicksburg, MS ● Zanesville, OH ● Mt. Sterling, KY
AT&T LTE Expanded in in San Francisco, California as well as Worcester, Massachusetts.
July was AT&T's most accelerated LTE rollout, as they launched 54 new markets in the 31 day period. Hopefully August brings LTE to many other areas still on 3G/HSPA+. AT&T plans to have 400 markets covered by years end.
Customers can enjoy faster download/upload speeds, lower latency, and more efficient use of spectrum with LTE. Only the iPhone 5 has LTE enabled (iPhone 4/4S have HSPA), so you'll need to upgrade to enjoy these faster speeds.
