There is just nothing in that corner inside that phone that could explode - hence this story is BS. Even that picture shows no sign of an explosion. And why would anybody need to be on the phone for 40 mins nonstop anyway -duh

If she's dropped it on that corner, she will have damaged the shutter on the camera on the other side, which will begin to over-heat, whether that would cause it to "explode" is highly unlikely however.

All lithium ion batteries can and do blow up if they over heat. The iphone and iPad have a over heat sensor that is supposed to shut the battery off at 130 deg F. If this is damaged the battery can blow up. Also if the phone was replaced with a non oem battery it could create an overheat problem.

Because in US we 'exchange' our phones every fortnight.

no iphone should be released without remotely triggered pricm explosion feature activated. just read thoroughly cupertino license agreement about nukes in particular. obviously there was some radioactive trace in her workplace

Well, its weird. my iphone shut itself when it gets hot. with a warning massage on screen. happen sometimes when using the map. and its not at the point to explode but get hot and then the black screen with message.

It's likely a battery problem, as the batteries sometimes break down, overhead and expand, breaking the phones. It's rare that one 'explodes', but certainly isn't unknown. Picking up a hot phone to see why it's growing in size isn't the best option!

Fix all broken screen once it crack. You never know what happen to the phone once it drop. Apple should charge less on 1 year old iPhone

Poor comment. Racism is a bit too frequent on this site. Needs to be cleaned up.

Sounds to me like they have an interest in some Samsung Shit and are trying to make Apple look bad, so the Chinese customers will stay away from IPhones.

I was just about to say the same thing.. All reports for issues with the iPhone come from outside of North America... Maybe in North America we get the non-exploding ones..

Why is it always outside of the US that iPhones explode or hurt someone.
