AT&T announced the availability of 13 new 4G LTE markets today. With the new markets launching, the carrier brings its total count to 383. Six of the 13 markets launched today were pre-announced.
The new markets launched today include:
● Champaign-Urbana, IL [Pre-announced] ● Longview, TX [Pre-announced] ● Tyler, TX [Pre-announced] ● Marshall, TX [Pre-announced] ● Springfield, OH ● Tupelo, MS ● Tifton, GA [Pre-announced] ● Moultrie, GA ● Corning, NY ● Mayfield, KY ● Paducah, KY [Pre-announced] ● Stevens Point, WI ● Whitewater-Lake Geneva, WI
Recently, the carrier also announced that they will be bringing LTE to 50 new markets by the end of 2013. 37 new markets have been launched in August.
AT&T also announced LTE coverage expansion in Virginia Beach.
Customers can enjoy faster download/upload speeds, lower latency, and more efficient use of spectrum with LTE. iPhone users should note that only the iPhone 5 has LTE enabled (iPhone 4/4S have HSPA), so you'll need to upgrade to enjoy these faster speeds.
AT&T has launched 246 new markets in 2013 so far with plans to reach over 400 markets by the end of 2013, covering 270 million people.
