New Lock Screen Bug Found in iOS 7.0.2 [Video]

Posted September 28, 2013 at 3:01am by
Just after Apple released iOS 7.0.2 to resolve a lock screen bug, another one has been discovered.

The video below, posted to YouTube by Dany Lisianski, shows a method of accessing contacts, photos, send message, and send email by making a FaceTime call.

*Note: Disabling Siri on the launch screen will prevent this.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a phone call (with Siri / Voice Control).
2. Click the FaceTime button.
3. When the FaceTime App appears, click the Sleep button.
4. Unlock the iPhone.
5. Answer and End the FaceTime call at the other end.
6. Wait a few seconds.
7. Done. You are now in the phone app.

Take a look at the demonstration below...

I don't get it. If you can make calls with Siri why is it a security bug if you access the phone app?

That's not a bug are you joking those are three options in the lock screen setting that are allowed when phone is locked try turning off if you don't want those working 1. Quick reply 2. FaceTime 3.siri I can't believe this got post with out researching those settings hahahaha

so thief know your contacts... other than that, didn't see what phone (5?) is, and maybe he is running 7 not 7.0.2, and why is everything canceled and not actually send . txt.email, or whatever? nice glitch, if is true. someone else test it?

Or you could ask Siri to search the web for dogs or anything, tap on the first result, Safari will open and then press the home button and you're in. Presto. #iPhone5S

Incorrect. Just tried it. The second I tap on any of the search results it asks for a password.

How would a thief make a phone call in the first place if the phone was passcode or fingerprint locked?

How about the ability to disable calling with Siri on lock screen? This is useless to me because, I don't ever call anyone using Siri on lock screen.
