Apple has just pushed out iBooks version 1.0.1 that brings bug fixes and improvements to performance and stability.
Apple released a Mail update earlier today that improved compatibility with Gmail.
The update comes in at just 14.7MB and can be downloaded via Mac App Store Software Update.

And yet it still lacks even rudimentary metadata editing for any of the ebooks or documents I put in it. While Calibre is fugly as sin, at least it has those features and more, plus its free. C'mon Apple, at least put iBooks for Mac on a par with iTunes feature-wise. I like the interface and presentation, but that is all iBooks has going for it right now.
