Apple Comments on Microsoft Ads

Posted April 16, 2009 at 8:21pm by iClarified
Apple has issued a comment on the new Microsoft laptop hunter ads for a recent Business Week article.

The article entitled, "Mac vs. PC: What You Don't Get for $699" suggests that a 17-in. PC may cost a lot less than a 17-in. Mac. But you get less, too, including security, multimedia tools, and, some say, satisfaction.

Usually silent on such things, Apple did give Business Week a comment on the Microsoft ads. "A PC is no bargain when it doesn't do what you want," Apple spokesman Bill Evans says. "The one thing that both Apple and Microsoft can agree on is that everyone thinks the Mac is cool. With its great designs and advanced software, nothing matches it at any price." Microsoft declined to comment.

I've been an IT pro for about 12 years. I turned to Mac about 18 months ago when I just spent most of my time frustrated by my PC and windows laptops. I've never looked back and so far haven't found a compelling reason to even install Windows on my Mac. So yeah, they are cool, but that's just on the surface. Underneath they are comprehensive, secure and robust. It's like when you meet someone for the first time and the first thing you notice is how cute she is so you try and get to know her. Eventually you find out she's a really great person that you can depend on and that's when you truly fall in love.
