Facebook's Ad platform gives a wide range of targeting information including gender and device type. With this data, Benedict Evans put together graphs that show iPhone models compared with gender. Interestingly enough, women prefer the iPhone 5c over the iPhone 5s. The iPhone 5s was also found to be outselling the iPhone 5c (which was previously known).
Women were found to be more likely to buy iPhones, particularly in the US, and much more likely to buy the iPhone 5c. One possible explanation for higher iPhone 5c sales among women are the wide range of colors that if offers.
Since its launch, the iPhone 5c has been dropped to $27 to some retailers, after being dropped to $47 a few weeks after its launch.

Maybe it's b/c men save up more or see some colors as beauty for women.

The iPhone 5S seems to be more of a masculine kind of phone so yes I'd agree with that statement. However, I'm male and I own the iPhone 5C as I'm not into all this fancy technology like the fingerprint scanner.
