Broad Reach Software has announced ArchiveMac 1.2, an update to their popular disk archival solution for Mac OS X Leopard. As files and directories continue to grow in size, file archival is becoming an essential part of system maintenance. Archiving files larger than the media size is oftentimes a challenge.

With a deep focus on ease-of-use, ArchiveMac was developed specifically to burn large files and directories to CD, DVD and even Blu-Ray discs. Files are conveniently split as needed, spanning as many discs as necessary. While restoring, the pieces are reassembled to recreate the original file. Among ArchiveMac's numerous features is its ability to archive files from Time Machine backups before they are erased due to lack of space.

ArchiveMac supports burning to Blu-Ray discs, offering as much as 50GB per disc capacity. It also supports DVD single and dual layer up to 8.5GB as well as CDs both 650 and 700MB. If ArchiveMac is unavailable, archive discs can be read and restored on Windows(TM), Linux and Mac OS X without additional tools.

Version 1.2 improves the process to burn discs, allowing discs in a set to be skipped as well as supporting burning multiple copies of any disc.

Feature Highlights:
* Intelligent file splitting to minimize number of discs and avoid splitting smaller files
* Archive discs can be read and restored on Windows(TM), Linux and Mac OS X without additional tools
* Each Disc in a Set contains its own file list for entire set, allowing any disc to start the restore
* Supports CD-R, CD-RW, 650 and 700MB
* Supports DVD ±R, ±RW, -DL, 4GB and 8.5GB
* Supports BD-R, BD-RE single and dual layer, 25 and 50GB Blu-Ray

Pricing and Availability:
ArchiveMac 1.2 may be purchased for $24.99 (USD). Users may try out ArchiveMac with seven successful disc burns, regardless of time. After the trial expires, only 650MB CDs can be burned and a maximum of 2 discs in a set.
