Apple has confirmed that they will keep the Beats Music App alive on both Android and Windows Phone devices. After announce its plans to acquire Beats for $3 Billion, the company confirmed the news in an interview with Recode.
“It’s on Android now, and we want to keep it that way,” Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue said at the inaugural Code Conference on Wednesday.
Apple is now able to sell music on other platforms, without using directly Apple's name. In addition, if Apple were to pull these apps from the respective stores, it would most likely be met with regulatory issues from the Federal Trade Commision.
Don't expect any other applications such as iMessage or iTunes Store coming to other devices. “Everything is better on iOS,” Cue said.
The Apple/Beats deal is expected to close later this year.
