Apple Job Postings Hint At Support for Additional Siri Languages

Recent job postings on Apple's website hint that the company is looking to add additional languages to Siri. Apple is seeking Siri Language Engineers who have expertise in foreign languages and software development skills.

Come and join the team that teaches Siri how to understand and speak new languages. We are an extremely diverse and passionate group dedicated to bringing the future of intelligent assistants to the world. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer, expert in foreign languages and with strong software development skills to join our team.

Apple posted the job openings between June 10 and June 19, and they are seeking engineers fluent in Norwegian, Turkish, Danish, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch, Thai, and Russian, all of which are currently not supported by Siri.

iOS 7 brought major changes to Siri including faster response times, a new look, a new voice and more. iOS 8 does not add major features to Siri, but will bring real-time feedback, Hey Siri support and Shazam integration.

Hey gays!!! Want about Portuguese from Portugal?!! The Portuguese world comunity is far bigger that brasilian unless You count with the aborigenal people that uses siri to call mother nature.

How about adding support for multiple languages? My iPhone is set in Italiano and I had Siri set for English US, this caused many conflicts with basic Siri function so I switched Siri to Italiano. Now it understands me fine unless I ask it to find a specific place, it doesn't understand me at all because the name of the place is usually pronounced in English only. For example I would say "dov'e maverick?" And I would get a random answer back but if I say "dov'e in benzinaio?" Or "dov'e benzina?" then it at least pulls up a list of gas stations near by but it's annoying to scroll through them while driving. I could just switch everything back to English, but that's just more of an inconvenience for me

Siri learns you got to keep talking and when she write the wrong word touch that word and type it in till she learn. But you are right about Siri and maps it works the best in the U.S, on iOS 8 they will be able to use Siri with 3rd party Apps like Waze and that will be cool! The only thing I don't understand is that Tim said on stage that they are adding over 20 languages on iOS 8 so where and what are they???

What I'm fcking saying is cortana is far behind Siri after 3 years of Siri being out and now they got something here to take notes on playing catch up even for iOS 8.
