The Cupertino-based company also said that its app store saw a record number of customers making transactions that month.
"I couldn't be happier. This is the best execution of any quarter since I've been at Apple," said CEO Tim Cook
Apple reported its second quarter earnings in July, where it noted that iTunes Software & Services had been the fastest growing part of Apple sales. Revenue from iTunes Software and Services topped $4.5 billion alone. Cook also noted that the company has racked up 75 billion App Store downloads since its launch.
