Cahoots Networks has announced the release of Cahoots, an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Cahoots is a group communication tool that uses push notifications for immediate group chat. Using a simple, polished interface, with design cues from the built-in SMS application, Cahoots allows groups of users to stay in touch. Push notifications alert every group member of a new message, as soon as it is sent. The system is responsive enough for cohesive live group chat, and stores messages locally and on the server, to track entire threads.

Users can create and join multiple groups, as well as send invites directly from the app. Invites are also delivered via push notification, making ad-hoc groups easy to create. Cahoots is designed for co-workers, sports teams, traveling, special events, or any time one needs to stay in touch with a group of people.
