An 18-year-old from Murfreesboro, Tennessee may owe his life to Siri, reports FOX17.
The teen was working under his truck when it fell on him, trapping his arms. Alone he tried to yell for help but nobody heard his cries. Then the teen heard the familiar Siri activation coming from the iPhone in his back pocket. He was able to "push up on his hip" to activate Siri and call 911.
Murfreesboro EMS, LifeFlight, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center's trauma team took over from there but if it were not for Siri, they may not have had the chance.
I agree comletely with Agnostic Charlie, and in addition to that: all th more reason to jailbreak your iPhone and install Untethered Hey Siri.
The boy could have been in a position where he wasn't able to move at all, or just had both arms/hands disabled. Siri wouldn't hav been able be of any use in that case to get help.
Wow you do a lot to discredit the deity of God all Mighty, who can and is able to save us from any situation, ailment, or pain.
Don't blindness or unwillingness to recognize God's existence take its root in your heart. God is a God of love and is willing to accept you as you are. Call out to him, seek him, ask for his grace and you will see that he most certainly is very real and able to show a purpose for your life.
all i can say is we need to all do alot of research on times before and after "religion" before we get on here and state things like we know its a fact. alot of truth here and alot of bs. and thats a fact...lol
But if it had been "hey Google", the phone probably would have glitched out or crashed because of malware. But seriously, the best news is that the kid lived.
He would have been a dead duck if he had OK Google, damn thing drains the battery and if he would have tried, it would be something like this, "Ok Google", (Sounds goes off then, a dying whimper of battery death.)
You must have just purchased yours, wait in 6 months when it starts. Make sure you use it like a real smart phone thou? Freezes much when updating your apps?
Re:@Dommm; So Android devices don't just glitch out, huh? Do you know which mobile platform has the most malware and spyware targeted at it? If you said Android, you are correct. In fact, Android was neck-and-neck with Windows in all badware categories over the past year. Why is that, you ask? Because Android phones are cheap and available to all income levels and the Google Play Store has very light restrictions. There are actually tons of malware and spyware-laden apps in the Google Play Store itself. Android phones are marketed toward lower-income people. That is a fact. There are economy versions made by almost every manufacturer of Android devices. This is done so that the carriers such as Verizon and AT&T have a phone to be given away with the signing of a plan and contract. Apple folded to this concept with the iPhone 5(c), and we all know what a flop that was. So yes, unless you never connect to the Play Store or the Internet at all, Android phones are glitchy and just basically garbage. Next time anyone wants to moan and comain about the restrictions on iPhones and the App Store itself, remember these facts, and be glad that iOS is kept secure. It may just save your life one day just like it did this young man's!
