iPhone 6s vs iPhone 6: Wi-Fi Speed Test [Video]

Posted October 3, 2015 at 8:16pm by iClarified · 108550 views
We've posted a new Wi-Fi speed test comparing the 802.11ac (with MIMO) iPhone 6s Plus versus the 802.11ac iPhone 6 Plus.

Both devices were freshly restored to iOS 9.0.2 and connected to the 2013 Apple AirPort Extreme. Each iPhone was connected to the AirPort Extreme using a 5GHz-only network. No other devices were connected to the wireless network at the time of the test and the downloads were performed at separate times. We cut them together for comparison.

As you will see in the video, there is a substantial speed improvement! Apple has now quadrupled the speed achieved by the iPhone 5s and increased speeds by around 33% from the iPhone 6. Apple says you should theoretically be able to get twice the speeds with MIMO, but we've yet to reach that. We peaked at a little over 500Mbps.

Totally useless, it all depends on the speed of the server which on the other side and for thIs video you know they used a really fast server probably at the Apple campus build only for this test. It's just like I have 100GBS internet speed and some times I get 10 gigs per second and some time 80 gigs a sec, it depends on servers speed and how busy at that time they are! Just try downloading iTunes at different times you'll see how big the speed changes.

Another useless article! Congrats! Don't do speed tests with different sized files, or a networked pc file transfer speed test, no no no, just one useless test done twice! Morons!

What if I told you faster is better and could save most of your day?

What if you weren't an idiot and you watched the video. Maybe then you would see that three different sized files were used for three tests. Can't see and can't count eh
