Leaker Digital Chat Station says Apple is prototyping two new display panels for its rumored 20th anniversary iPhone lineup. In a recent Weibo post, the leaker claims the company is sampling panels measuring approximately 6.4 inches and 7 inches for the 2027 anniversary devices.
According to the post, the smaller panel could be destined for the "iPhone 20 Pro," while the larger display is expected for the "iPhone 20 Pro Max." Both would be slightly larger than the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays introduced with the iPhone 16 Pro lineup in 2024.
The leak also suggests the physical size of the entire lineup will increase while the aspect ratio remains unchanged, and that Apple may adopt a nearly bezel-free four-curved display design.
A move to 6.4 inches would represent only a modest increase over the current 6.3-inch Pro display, while the 7-inch Pro Max would be just slightly larger than today's 6.9-inch panel. Apple last increased the size of its premium iPhone displays with the iPhone 16 Pro lineup in 2024, when the Pro grew from 6.1 to 6.3 inches and the Pro Max from 6.7 to 6.9 inches. The rumored four-curved design, however, would likely be the more noticeable change.
Digital Chat Station has a fairly solid track record with Apple supply chain information, though early prototypes often change before reaching production. If the rumored 7-inch Pro Max reaches production, it would become Apple's largest non-folding iPhone.
