Apple is no longer interested in digital streaming rights for NFL's Thursday Night Football, according to Re/code. The NFL sold off the TV rights to Thursday Night Football to CBS and NBC, but still intends to sell the digital rights to those games this month.
Streaming rights to all 18 regular-reason games would certainly help set the Apple TV apart from the competition, but Apple has determined that the "package isn't enough" to do so.
Despite Apple pulling out, Facebook, Amazon, Verizon, and Yahoo are still interested in the bidding war, according to the report.
The NFL's annual owners meeting starts on March 20, and sources say that the league would hope to have the deals wrapped up by then.
