Samsung has posted a video apology to its customers following the announcement of an official recall of the Galaxy Note 7 due to an exploding battery.

Tim Baxter, President & COO of Samsung Electronics America, addresses Samsung’s exchange program and formal U.S. voluntary recall of the Galaxy Note7 in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Samsung confirms that new Note7 replacement devices will be available in the United States at most retail locations no later than September 21, 2016.

Samsung posts video apology for making fun of Apple removing headphone jack, cos they will be copying Apple.

Think about it. If it was just the battery, why don't they just let you replace that. Why do they need to recall the whole phone? Is the battery non-user replaceable?

Non-user replaceable batteries. They tried to copy Apple and failed. Watch them make a mess trying to remove the headphone jack next.

thank you samsung at least you have enough courage to apologize and solve the problem straightaway. Imaging if it had happened in Apple products we should look forward to all around the word to find someone to fix it. maybe by putting it in a refrigerator :))) , Note 7 undoubtedly is the king of all smart phones and it is followed by note 5.

Hah! King of all smartphones! I don't think so Samshit Fandroid! Maybe king of all explosives! - the most thinnest, smartest explosive inyour pocket! Hahaha! Have you seen your Samshit note 7 beaten by an iPhone 6s and take note, not even a 6s plus was used in that real life speed test! (You can search that in youtube because links are not allowed in this site).

If Samsung was sincere, they would apologise for all countries they sell the Note 7, not just in the US. And they should make good on the risk they have out their customers under. A swap is not enough.

Now imagine for one second that this was Tim Cook in this situation! Samsung would have had a field day poking fun of Apple every which way but lose as it has in the past including with the deletion of the 3.5mm headphone jack in iPhone 7 which turns out now Samsung will come to delete also according to rumor Ville. As for this recall, Samsung was late in informing US authorities about the impending recall. This video apology is not honest, it's the fire brigade trying to put out the fire after the house is consumed. The market capitalization losses at Samsung say it all.

Wow, now that's a sincere apology and I respect this company for the initiative. I'm not a Samsung fan, but I have to respect sincerity at this level.

I don't think it was an initiative. They just have no choice this time. It would be more shameful if they'll still wait for the other Note 7s would explode and cause more damage right? As what DoubleEdgeStandard have said, "they just a fire brigade trying to put out the fire". It's more of a damage control. Lol
