Seven Thieves Walk Into Apple Store, Steal $13,000 Worth of iPhones [Video]

Seven thieves walked into an Apple Store and stole $13,000 worth of iPhones in Natick, MA. The entire incident took just 1 minute and 36 seconds from entry to exit of the exterior doors.

On Wednesday evening a group of seven individuals made up of males and females entered the Mall and went directly to the Apple Store. These individuals, while clad in hoodies and/or hats to shield their identity, surrounded the area of the store where iPhones are on display. In orchestrated fashion these individuals cut the security cords and exited the store with 19 phones. Apple placed a value on the loss in excess of $13,000. The group fled easterly on foot and despite an extensive search was not located.

$13,000 / 7 people = 1,800 per person. Why risk the rest of your life for that? Doesn't even make since to me.

Sad moment when apple can not track your own devices..., how can we do it, if stolen, when apple can not? Time to Think Different.

Demo phones can't be used for anything besides being demo devices and Apple can remotely track and shit them down and or retrieve them via coordination with the police. I do not see the reward versus risk here. What am I missing?

Even if they are functional iphones, I asume apple record the serial numbers, so they know serial, and imei, thats all what they need to make this phone nothing than paper weights. For parts or nothing.

Nope they're full working models, they just connect the iPhone's to a wifi demo network, so they basically have full functional iPhones

You're wrong. It is a demo model. They don't use sensors anymore as reported previously. These iPhones carry a special iOS version once they leave the wifi of the store they're paper weights.

Haha. I'm sure you know floor employees have limited info on what really happens at Apple stores or with Apple at all.
