cyclus has released WorkLog 2.1, an update to their popular time tracking utility for iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Designed specifically to take advantage of the iPhone's unique capabilities and interface, WorkLog is a powerful and easy-to-use time tracking tool.

Less paperwork means more productivity. Perfect for freelancers, engineers, attorneys, tradesmen and employees alike, WorkLog lets users keep track of all the work time related data they need, allowing them to fully concentrate on everyday business. No more, no less. Logging time with WorkLog can be as simple as pressing Start to initiate a task and pressing Stop when done.

"WorkLog was created because we personally wanted to have something that suited our needs," said Lukas Heiniger, founder and CEO of cyclus. "Before we used to write our work hours on pieces of paper which we later lost or messed up. Or we were so busy with actual work that we forgot to track our time entirely. With WorkLog, it takes only a few seconds to get the administrative part of our work done. And the best thing about WorkLog is that it's portable. We have been keen to our customers feature requests, and implemented these in version 2.1, under the premise that the app remains simple to use. We've tried to make WorkLog much more powerful without cluttering it or make it unintuitive."

Feature Highlights:
* Comfortable and simple-to-use Interface
* Supports Manual entries
* Multiple categories, clients or projects
* User defined custom fields (e.g. for expense or activity tracking)
* Work week start/stop (Sunday, Monday, Friday, etc.)
* Logging past midnight
* Quick task switching and restarting after breaks
* Entries can be rounded to multiples
* Reports can be exported in CSV format
* Reports can be emailed
* Reports can be downloaded over WiFi

While focusing on simplicity, efficiency and flexibility, WorkLog was designed specifically to stay out of the way. However simply keeping track of time doesn't mean a lack of features when users need them. WorkLog sports a comprehensive set of options that allow easy adjustment of its logging behavior. Among WorkLog's most noteworthy features is its quick task switching and restarting. When holding the Start button, all fields will be prefilled with the info from the previous entry. This is particularly useful when working on-the-go and a great time savior.

The application supports manual entries, user definable custom fields for each category, client or project, as well as setting the start of the work week. Entries can even be rounded to multiples (ie: 15 minutes, etc). Reports can effortlessly be emailed to colleagues or downloaded over WiFi to open them in Excel and alternative programs.

"As with most swiss companies our focus is mainly on quality. We work with all the pro level tools for software development, version management, bug tracking, customer support etc. We don't want to just make a product for a few quick bucks and then abandon it," continues Heiniger. "We want to make a great product, support it, pay attention to the detail, and take the time to listen to our customers. It's my hope this shows."

Language Support:
* U.S. English, German, French, Italian and Spanish

Pricing and Availability:
WorkLog 2.1 is $7.99 USD (5.99 Yen) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Productivity category. There is also a free, lite version available that stores only three days of work data. Review copies are available upon request.

I haven't come across an app yet that has met my needs. I'll give this one a shot, but I can already tell by the screen shots this one will fail as the rest have. Well, you know what they say...."if you want something done right, do it yourself."
